2007 a banner year for Needlework New Brunswick
2007 has marked an important year for Needlework New Brunswick. With our higher national profile, the number of visitors to the web site at the end of December is more than three times what it was this summer! Thank you to all fibre artists and supporters for helping spread the word of our group and its activities.
Some of the highlights of this year are our having donated dozens of handknit hats to children in need, and provided colourful banners to several New Brunswick community groups. Our banner efforts even helped the Canadian Equestrian team to a silver finish at this year's Pan Am Games in Brazil, as the cloth symbol of encouragement hung in the Canadian stables during the entire event.
Also, we are pleased to work with a growing variety of regional organizations, welcoming newcomers such as Kings Landing Historical Settlement aboard! We look forward to a lasting and successful time working together.
In 2008, we will be sponsoring two awards at North America's longest running agricultural fair. Needlework New Brunswick is proud to salute the fibre artist who submits the most needlework entries and another for the person who earns the most points for fibre arts at the 111th version of the Kings County Agricultural Fair in Sussex, Aug. 19-21.
